Our small classes bring out the best in young children who receive all the help and encouragement from Steephill's qualified, experienced teachers. With up to 16 pupils in each class, each child benefits from individual attention necessary to achieve his or her full potential. As a small school the staff, parents and children all know each other and this contributes to our happy, family atmosphere.

Steephill has an excellent range of facilities including an art & science room, computer suite and library. Pupils use the beautiful school grounds for nature and environmental study topics. They also visit local areas of interest in connection with the curricula. The children present Christmas and summer entertainment for their parents, in the Hall in Winter and on the school lawn during the summer term. They also give a performance at the annual school fete. |
Steephill children are taught to respect the environment and animal wildlife. They help to care for the school pets and the gardenening club is very popular. They walk across the church meadow to attend Church of England services at nearby St. Mary's for Harvest Festival, Christmas, Easter and Founders day. The Rector visits the school regularly for the daily assembly.

The friendly caring atmosphere at Steephill ensures that its pupils have happy memories of their early school days.
At Steephill great emphasis is placed on social skills. We encourage good manners, consideration for others and team sprit. Steephill pupils are encouraged to enjoy learning and work towards high standards. They earn house stars for academic progress and good behaviour. The annual Prize Giving in the summer is the culmination of their many achievements during the school year. |
