Procedure for Entry into Secondary Education
Steephill School has a policy of ensuring that each child is given the opportunity to apply to the secondary school which is most appropriate. Some children choose to stay in the independent sector, some are entered for the entrance test to selective state schools and some apply to non-selective schools.
~ Steephill's results are excellent ~
In the table below the last 5 years results for destination of pupils are shown. Usually between 50% and 80% of children gain a grammar school place compared to the 25% county average.
The table below shows the destination of individuals on leaving Steephill.

From 2008/9 SATs are no
longer taken at Steephill. We have instead implemented a creative
curriculum which gives a rich opportunity for pupils at all levels
to develop their analytical and problem solving skills and
furthering their knowledge in all academic
areas.
