Our International Day last week was a great success, with the children making a wonderful effort to come dressed in an amazing array of costumes from around the globe.
All classes took part, from Pre-School to Class VI , with costumes from Mexico, Japan, Nigeria, France, India, China, Wales, Hawaii, Ireland, Spain, America, Argentina and Bulgaria.
The children learned phrases in the national language of different countries, brought in a range of foods such as sushi, and learned facts about the countries and cultures, such as the capital city and the longest river.
As Christmas is now just around the corner, the children learned carols in other languages - French, Spanish, Italian and of course the famous 'Stille Nacht' - 'Silent Night' in German.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational day for all the school, and do keep your eyes peeled as photos of the children in their fantastic costumes may be appearing in this week's Messenger newspaper!
