Well done to our two choirs who performed so well at the Beckenham Festival on Saturday.
The Lower School Choir came in first place winning the Margaret Cooper Cup with 88 marks and Honours. They were praised by the adjudicator Mr Gary Sieling for their “colourful singing, good ensemble and dynamics” in Sing A Rainbow, he thought that the antiphonal singing in The School Rule song was very effective, and he was particularly impressed with their diction in Sunshine In My Heart. Overall a “Happy and memorable performance.”
The Upper School Choir came in joint third place with 84 marks and a Merit. The adjudicator praised their “lovely warm tone” in Winter Solstice, the definition of the faster phrases in Stocking and Shirt (the set song) and the “confident swing” of Hey, Mr Miller. “Great to hear and great to see.”
A big well done to all those who took part, and a huge thanks to all the parents who took the children and supported them.
