Physical Education
At Steephill School, we strive to foster a love for physical activity while supporting children in developing a healthy, active lifestyle. Our PE curriculum focuses on building core skills such as coordination, balance and teamwork, while also helping children understand the importance of maintaining physical fitness and well-being.
Class 3 participate in weekly swimming lessons and the Upper School students benefit from the expertise of specialist PE teachers. Our balanced approach to physical education ensures that all children, regardless of their ability, are challenged and encouraged to improve their skills in a variety of sports and activities.
In addition to PE lessons, we offer a variety of after-school sporting clubs such as dance, yoga, tennis, and football. These clubs provide further opportunities for children to develop their physical abilities, build confidence and enjoy being active. We also take part in a range of school sports competitions, helping students to experience the thrill of competitive sports and to apply their skills in new and exciting ways.
Steephill School has always encouraged the children to participate in all types of sporting activities, enabling them to discover where their talents lie.
The school offers a wide range of activities in school including netball, football, rugby, rounders, swimming, cricket, hockey, short tennis, dance and athletics.
There are many sporting events throughout the school year, and we have very active netball, hockey, football and rugby teams.
Recently two of our students came in 5th place at the London South Cross Country Trials. They went on to take part in the Cross Country Nationals, where they both did well.
