Community

Community means supporting others both in school and outside of school.

In school we have Houses; Bignold, Ford and Francis. The Houses have regular meetings and the children within them support each other. They collect housepoints and encourage each other in competitions and on Sports Day.

The classes also have very individual identities and the children in each have a family feel to them as they have only 16 pupils.

The School meets every day for assembly, celebrates everyone’s birthday, rewards good behaviour and work and also achievements outside of school.

All the classes take part in charitable work – often a bake sale but also collecting for eco-kids, making things to sell, quizzes and baking bread for Harvest.

The School also has links with local schools, the local church, local Care Homes and takes part in local events.

Steephill is part of the Independent Schools Association and so we also take part in regional and national sporting and arts events.

FOSS; Friends of Steephill School is an important part of our community and the events they stage such as Halloween Christmas Parties, Easter Egg Hunts are enjoyed by everyone.
