Avi says:
I thought the poem was very unique because it was a very long poem and it must take a lot of effort to try and learn it. It is about life and what people are doing. The poem was written by the famous author/poet Rudyard Kipling who I have enjoyed many of his poems and books; example ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘My Boy Jack’.
Eva also likes this poem:
This poem is about a list of things that make you a wise and good person.
It contains all the characteristics required to make an ideal man.
It is written to his son, and sounds like the sort of message a father would send his son going off to war.
Here are Milo's thoughts about it -
This poem is good because it can help you to decide to do or not do something.
Jia also found this poem resonated with her as well:
If is a powerful poem because it motivates people to never give up. There are messages in this poem about keeping a clear head, developing lots of patience and remaining humble. It also talks about how to deal with failure and find happiness by overcoming fears. My favourite line is “or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, and stoop and build’em up with worn out tools.” I like it because it tells you to never give up and feel low about things broken especially if you like those things.
